Finally today my hard work has paid off. A few months before I had that I would learn to read. Being able to read would give me independence. My granddaughter, Sudha became my teacher. I am very grateful to her for her time. Dassara, which is today, was my deadline and I have succeeded in my goal. My teacher did a very sweet thing; she gifted me the novel Kashi Yatre. It is the very novel which awoke in me the desire to be able to read. When Sudha handed me the novel, I felt like a college student being awarded a degree. It is the most prestigious award for me, for which I thank my little granddaughter again. The child has proved to be a dedicated teacher.
